Yet another email scam, which it looks as though the spam engines haven't caught up with yet.

An email is sent claiming you've sent £6.87 to Parcel Monkey, and to click a link if you dispute this. Of course, you didn't send a payment, but the links go to a completely different web site, with goodness knows what software waiting there to trap the unwary.

Suffering fools, helping customers

I've just enjoyed the latest newsletter from Satcure (see http://bit.ly/eWsc8a). There are some gems there (quoted below, but follow the link and read the whole thing). The proprietor, Martin Pickering, is both knowledgeable and helpful on satellite and Freeview reception. He doesn't suffer fools gladly. Read and enjoy.

Horses electrocuted

An investigation has started into an incident where two horses were electrocuted at Newbury today.

Net problems leave users floundering

Facebook _and_ Twitter are both reporting problems with users updating their status.

Recently, many Tiscali broadband users were abandoned by Talk Talk, who cut off their internet connection without warning and then did not provide a MAC to enable re-provision of service by another supplier.

A back-hoe digger rips up the main telephone fibre-optic cable, taking thousands off the air at a stroke.

A road accident pulls down telephone lines, leaving subscribers disconnected until BT are able to repair it, which could be many days.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Egypt's government says State of Emergency to be lifted when protests end.

Is there a lot of difference in these two statements? One was intended as a joke, the other is being taken as a joke.

Come on (Egyptian) folks. You can do better than that. Eat some humble pie. Bring the election forward. You know you can if you want to.
