Please accept my apologies if you got a suspect email from me earlier today.
This morning I received an email with a dodgy link. Carelessly and in haste, I clicked on the link without first checking it. It generated several spam emails of the same kind using my gmail account. I always suggest hovering on the links in emails to see they are trustworthy, but this morning I omitted to do that. I'm sorry for the hassle it may have caused.
It seems like this attack was only a nuisance, tempting others to click on links which generated more emails, etc., but if you've received an email like this from any source, you should change your email password as a precaution. And of course, don't use the same password on other accounts.
