It's Christmas 2023, and the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade has said that ministers had "dropped plans to bring back imperial measurements, after 98.7% of people opposed the move". A welcome result from a government consultation.
Why did anyone think it a "good idea" to return to a system with such incoherent numerical relationships between units? The UK would have been one of a dwindling number of countries to use Imperial.
Vive la Système International !
